For our shoes made of loden, we use the purest virgin wool, which is manufactured according to traditional methods by the Steiner Lodenmanufaktur. legero loden shoes provide an extraordinary feeling of well-being when worn, because the material is elastic, crease-resistant, durable and temperature-balancing. The renewable material wool is also biodegradable and thus supports our ambitions for sustainability.
Despite the dense surface texture of the fibres, loden shoes are able to store both body heat and cold air. This ensures a good thermal balance. The dense surface and the natural fat content of the wool also create an impregnation that is water-repellent. Depending on the strength of the rain, you can even spend several hours in the wet with loden shoes.
Wool has the ability to neutralise odours, which is why legero Loden shoes are odour-inhibiting. Synthetic fibres have to be washed after being worn once. With loden, a simple airing is enough to get sweat and the like out of the fibres.
